Our industry lost an incredible man, David Cartwright, who passed away on August 30, 2021. Having spent 40 years in the industry with Sparlings Propane (now part of Parkland Corporation), David was an incredible asset to the industry. While working in a fast-paced environment as a propane gas technician, he served on multiple code review committees for propane, was an industry mentor, and a CPA/Propane Training Institute industry trainer.

The five-year action plan for expanding recycling and waste prevention, presented on September 10 by the B.C. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, does not name specific fuels or gases, such as propane, in order to “capture most products and be able to capture new ones entering the marketplace in future.”

During the last Saskatchewan Committee Meeting, Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK), the Authority having jurisdiction, brought forward a concern that construction trailers have been historically installed with the cylinder set up against the trailer and close to the AC unit which could cause an ignition concern.

The ministère de l'Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques and the California Air Ressources Board will hold the joint carbon market auction on November 17, 2021.

This is a reminder that if you have customers that own and operate agricultural boilers and pressure vessels (BPVs), they should report their devices to TSSA following the revocation of the regulatory exemption on agricultural BPVs on July 1, 2021.

Health Canada has issued a recall of certain gas water heaters distributed by Usines Giant Factories Inc. between March 11, 2021 and March 24, 2021.
