The CPA holds a number of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Equivalency Certificates on behalf of members. These allow activities related to transporting dangerous goods to be carried out in a way that do not comply with the TDG Regulations, if they provide an equivalent level of safety. Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) recently launched their Alternative Fuelling Station Locator. With your help, the CPA was able to put propane fuel on the map! You will note that propane (and electric charging stations) has by far, the most locations on the map. PTI - Propane Training Institute
A number of courses from the Canadian Propane Association (CPA) / Propane Training Institute (PTI) are recognized by Authorities Having Jurisdiction. That recognition is received based on a complete training package (workbook and exam). Accordingly, in order for the CPA / PTI to issue a certificate, the student must have successfully passed both the written and practical exams. Ongoing Consultation & Updates
The CPA has provided comments to the Canadian Registration Number (CRN) Consortium. Based on feedback from members, the CPA is recommending the harmonization of the CRN so that registration in one jurisdiction is accepted across Canada, maintaining the current application process.
