Print this Article

As per O. Reg. 219/01: Operating Engineers, the Technical Standards and Safety Authority’s (TSSA) inspectors will no longer schedule inspections of non-emergency boiler and pressure vessels (BVP) or the work completed by operating engineers.

How to now schedule your inspection:

Inspections are scheduled based on the time of the request, priority level and inspector availability. Agents will respond to your inspection request within one business day.

TSSA’s lead times for inspections are as follows (rural or northern Ontario inspections may require longer lead times due to travel):

Inspection type   Lead time requested
BPV Repair alterations Call 1 business day in advance
BPV Fabrication Call or email 2 business days in advance
BPV Installation inspection     Call or email 5 business days in advance
BPV - OE Incidents                          Urgent as required
(Call Spills Action Centre (SAC) at 1-800-268-6060)

Note:
For BPV inspections scheduled through an insurer, there is no change to the inspection scheduling process.

For urgent inspection requests outside business hours, please contact your local inspector.

For any changes to your mailing or contact information, please contact the TSSA at Intake@tssa.org with the updated details and your account number prior to your inspection.
