Transport Canada is Looking for Your Feedback

In February, the CPA informed members that Transport Canada will implement a Transportation of Dangerous Goods Client Identification Database (TDG CID) as a means to improve oversight of the transportation of dangerous goods in Canada and support better risk management. The TDG CID is also being developed to address recommendations from the Office of the Auditor General and Transportation Safety Board to improve knowledge and awareness of its transportation of dangerous goods stakeholder base.

Between March 15 and 23, Transport Canada hosted face-to-face consultations across the country. The CPA attended the session held in Ottawa on March 21.

Documentation presented during the consultations as well as a short industry survey can be found on The Grid. Results from the consultations and the surveys will help Transport Canada develop the regulatory framework for the TDG CID; therefore, members are encouraged to complete the survey.

Please submit your completed survey to TC.TDGCID-BDICTMD.TC@tc.gc.ca by April 5, 2018.

CPA would also like to receive a copy of your completed survey. Please forward to Mélanie Levac, Vice-President of Regulatory Affairs and Safety, at melanielevac@propane.ca.
