PTI Course Updates Reflect DOT Cylinder Allowances

Print this Article

Until recently, cylinders with US Department of Transportation (DOT) - instead of TC or CTC specifications - were not allowed to be legally filled in Canada unless they were manufactured prior to January 1, 1993. However, this is now permitted due to recent Transport Canada regulations which were developed in the spirit of Canada-USA harmonization of codes and standards. Relevant PTI Manuals will now reflect this, but no recall or discontinuation of manuals and exams will be issued for this change. PTI Trainers can expect direct notification in the coming weeks.
