The third annual Auto Propane Day is taking place this year on Thursday, December 9, 2021. This global awareness campaign is designed to promote auto propane and raise awareness about the benefits of this low-emission transportation energy source.
 
On October 26, 2021, Prime Minister Trudeau appointed his new cabinet. Nine new ministers are entering cabinet and 21 returning ministers have been assigned new portfolios. 
The new ministers are predominantly from Atlantic Canada, the Greater Toronto Area, and Quebec. There is one MP from Alberta in cabinet as well.
 
 
   
Prime Minister Trudeau delivered Canada’s National Statement and announced enhanced and ambitious climate action to cut pollution during COP26 that was held in Glasgow, Scotland, from October 31 to November 12, 2021.
 
 
   
Manitoba Progressive Conservative leader Heather Stefanson has been sworn in as Manitoba’s 24th premier. Stefanson, first elected in 2000, has served as justice minister, deputy premier and health minister.
 
 
   
On November 4, 2021, Ontario’s Finance Minister, Peter Bethlenfalvy, tabled the annual fall economic statement outlining the government’s fiscal priorities and financial outlook.
 
As a follow-up to initial communications with Nova Scotia's Premier Houston and several of his ministers elected in August 2021, the CPA is meeting with the new government this week to discuss the Propane Advantage.

Propane Training Institute
On November 1, 2021, the CPA/Propane Training Institute announced changes to its insurance requirements and rolled out a new group insurance program designed to create efficiencies for independent trainers across the country.

The new issue of CPA’s  Energized magazine, coming out in December 2021, focuses on marketing propane in an era where ‘electrify everything’ is coming at us in all directions.
 
The CPA issued a press release on November 9, 2021, to share steps that propane users can take to ensure they are prepared for the cold season ahead as well as help lower their energy bills.
 
 
   
More than two thousand people followed the CPA social media campaign during the National Bus Safety Week, between October 18 and 22, 2021.

Canada’s economic recovery from the pandemic continues to be challenged by labour shortages across industries ranging from energy to aviation to agriculture. This shortage has directly impacted the propane transportation sector and remains a key issue for the CPA and its members.
