Advocacy News
With the federal election results now in, the CPA will continue its efforts to advance priority issues for the propane industry with the federal government. A review of minority governments in recent history would indicate that, barring some unforeseen circumstance, we should expect the life of this government to be about 24 to 36 months.

The PROPANE Advantage Video is a visual of the various applications of propane that make up the propane advantage, from cooking and home energy, to growing markets like transportation. It is also an excellent tool to use on your website and social media.

You can watch the video by clicking on the picture below or by visiting the Association's Website or Youtube channel.

The Ontario government has launched a new website that will make it easier for businesses to help make the province open for business and open for jobs by inviting them to submit their ideas on modernizing regulations and reducing red tape.
Updates to the attendees included the Transport Canada electronic shipping documents pilot program, direct-fired vaporizers, CPA national recycling initiative, and the new Manitoba red tape reduction campaign and the successes achieved by the CPA in a similar exercise in other provinces. The updates were followed by a short discussion on eligibility for Manitoba companies for the federal government Climate Action Initiative Fund that closed October 17.
The Canadian Propane Association reminds members to update the address – or any additional new information – of their fuel stations in the Alternative Fuelling Stations Locator on the Natural Resources Canada website.

Transport Canada has given a deadline of January 31, 2021 to log in to EOS and resubmit your ERAP regardless of when your ERAP expires. If your ERAP expires in 2020, ERAC will contact you around 90 days prior to the expiration date to begin the renewal process. If you do not have an ERAP expiring in 2020, ERAC recommends completing the following process as soon as possible.
As part of these changes from Transport Canada, Emergency Response Assistance Canada has also updated their Dangerous Goods Preparedness and Response Participation Agreement to ensure that they meet all federal regulations on your behalf.
ERAC is excited to announce that their second Dangerous Goods Emergency Management Conference will take place May 4-6, 2020 in Calgary at Hotel Arts.
