Earlier this month, the CPA reached out to all MPs in support of Private Members Bill C-234, an Act to amend the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act, which is currently before the House of Commons. Bill C-234 contains an exemption for propane in affected provinces (AB, SK, MB and ON).
On May 18, the bill passed second reading in the House of Commons.
The bill will now move on to the Agriculture-Agri-food Committee for more study.
The CPA will continue to advocate for the bill to be passed in the House of Commons and the Senate.
