NEW - MAJOR WIN - NS: Halifax chooses low-emission school buses to deliver students to school

Next year, Halifax students will be transported to school on new, low-emission propane school buses. Student Transportation of Canada Inc., Southland Transportation Ltd., and National Passenger Services (also known as Stock Transportation Ltd.) are the successful providers for student transportation in the Halifax region. The service providers will supply, maintain and drive propane buses to deliver students safely to school.

Southland Transportation Ltd. will be running over 140 propane-powered units, covering 129 routes as it sits today. They have been utilizing propane as an alternative to diesel fuel since 2007. They currently own and operate the largest propane-fuelled fleet of school buses in Canada. As of 2019, their fleet has grown to over 600 buses!

The CPA  welcomes this news and looks forward to collaborating with Southland on this new project. For any questions or comments, contact Jean-Francois Duguay, Government Relations Director, Atlantic Canada and Quebec at jeanfrancoisduguay@propane.ca or 506-480-0275.
