The Association québécoise du propane and the CPA have submitted an intervenor request to the Québec Energy Board to participate in the hearing for the Plan of Transition Énergétique Québec. The two associations are seeking to improve and strengthen the role propane could play to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the transportation sector. They will also be seeking the recognition that propane should not be classified with heavier fossil fuels but rather in the same category with natural gas, which could then allow the development of measures or programs in the residential, commercial and institutional sectors.
