The CPA is pleased to welcome Hando Kang as the new Director, Government Relations, Ontario.

Hando brings many years of experience from the private and government sectors to the position. A proven leader in government relations, public policy advocacy and stakeholder management, Hando has lead strategic policy solutions on complex issues, including renewable energy initiatives.

During his 10-year tenure as Vice-President of Government Affairs for SkyPower Global in Toronto, Hando managed major advocacy and lobbying programs for the Canadian renewable energy sector and built coalitions between NGOs, suppliers and developers to increase renewable energy targets at all levels of the Ontario government. In 2011, he played an intrinsic role in bringing together a coalition of allies through a major lobbying program to ensure solar energy’s position in the supply mix.

Prior to joining the private sector, Hando spent four years with the Ontario government as political staff to the Ontario Premier’s office, as well as the Ministers’ of the Environment, Natural Resources and Health.

Hando is looking forward to working with the CPA members in Ontario, and developing and maintaining relationships with all levels of government, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.
