The CPA is delighted to announce that the PTI Auto Propane Conversion for Highway Vehicles Course is now approved for use as a TSSA accredited ICE-P Certificate Program. The certificate allows licensed mechanics in licensed conversion centres to install, inspect, activate, repair, and service auto propane systems on highway vehicles in Ontario.

The creation of this auto propane course went through various stages of development, evaluation and support by CPA stakeholders across Canada.

Regulatory authorities in British Columbia and Alberta have already formally recognized this course for use in their jurisdictions. In fact, several governmental staff from Alberta, along with members of the propane industry, recently completed the auto propane conversion training course together. Now, Ontario’s TSSA has joined Alberta and BC in giving their formal approval for the course. The course translation to French will require 6-8 weeks and will be completed by September 2017.

With these significant steps achieved, the CPA will focus on other provinces to formally recognize this course in each of their respective jurisdictions.

The CPA and its Propane Training Institute are proud of the continued progress to enhance, update and create new training courses to support the growth of the auto propane market segment in Canada.
