The CPA held its 2017 Ontario Seminar & Golf Tournament at the Markham Hilton Conference Centre on May 31 and June 1. Over 150 delegates attended the event, which included a full day of seminar presentations, a supplier exhibition, and a golf tournament at the beautiful Angus Glen Golf Club. A dinner featuring presentations of CPA’s annual awards, meetings for CPA’s Codes & Standards and Transportation Committees, and CPA’s Annual General Meeting, were also conducted as part of the event.

Speakers at the Seminar addressed topics such as government relations, regulatory updates and Ontario’s Home Energy Retrofit programs. Mike Richmond, from McMillan LLP, offered insights into natural gas expansion and steps the CPA is taking at the Ontario Energy Board to challenge it. Spencer Buckland of Emergency Response Assistance Canada, and Gerald Thompson of the Propane Training Institute, provided updates on their organization’s activities. The event's keynote speaker, financial planning expert Peter Merrick, presented a great look at succession planning and what it means to the propane industry.

Thank you to all sponsors, participants and to the many volunteers who contributed to making this year's seminar and golf tournament a great success. Presentations from the seminar are available to CPA members on The Grid.
