David Eby will be sworn in as the new premier of B.C., following the NDP leadership race. Details are still to come regarding a cabinet shuffle, but CPA members should expect a significant shift in NDP focus and priorities, with energy policy likely undergoing a change in perspective under the new leadership.

The CPA will engage with the new government, working to ensure that policies include propane. The association will stress the important role that propane plays across the province in terms of production, exports, and heating of over 30,000 homes primarily in rural and remote locations not connected to the grid.

The CPA expects to form a Lobby Day for B.C. members in Q1 2023, details with be discussed at the December CPA BC Committee meeting.
