In the coming weeks, the CPA will be putting in place two new forums that will provide more opportunities for CPA members to provide input into the work of the association.

Two councils are being established. The first one is the Producer/Wholesaler/Transport Council and the second is the Retail Council.

The purpose of the committees is to assist the Board of Directors in fulfilling its responsibilities to improve member engagement and overall member support of the propane industry, as well as to execute the mission of the CPA.

The Producer/Wholesaler/Transport Council and the Retail Council will be standing committees of the Board’s External Affairs Committee and will report to the Chair of the External Affairs Committee, providing advice and recommendations as appropriate to the Board of Directors.

These committees will focus on policy work and the CPA’s government relations agenda. They will draw on the knowledge and capacity of members to support the development, promotion and advocacy of policy interests that may affect the CPA and its members.

These national committees are in addition to the Regulatory, Transportation and Auto Propane Committees that are currently in place. The CPA believes the advantage of these new committees is that they will provide more targeted discussion about the challenges and opportunities facing the various aspects of the propane industry.
