The CPA participated in the City of St. John’s first Multi-Stakeholder Environment and Sustainability Team video conference on September 3, 2020. The multi-stakeholder team will work with City of St. John’s staff to inform the community section of the Sustainability Planning Framework. The team will then report to Council via the Environmental and Sustainability Expert Panel.

The mandate for the multi-stakeholder team is to provide local perspective and advice to the two community-based focus groups on the development of community energy efficiency and the reductions of GHGs in the community. The two groups are the Community Energy Efficiency and GHG Mitigation Group and a Community Adaptation Group. CPA member, North Atlantic, is participating in the first group. The CPA is currently part of the panel as an observer.

The group discussion is in the preliminary stage and the CPA will continue to monitor its direction. If opportunities for propane are identified, the CPA will provide input and engage in activities and workshops, keeping members updated as information becomes available.
