CPA members have been stepping up to help their communities during this unprecedented time. We would love to hear your stories or receive a photo so that we can share your good news stories. These are a few examples of how CPA members are contributing to the relief efforts to those impacted by COVID-19:

CPA’s photo contest winner, Jim Bellwood of Highlands Propane Inc., asked Rob Barrow of Eco-Pro to donate the money that would have been used to purchase his winning prize, a propane turkey fryer, to the Food Bank. Rob matched the prize money, with the Food Bank benefiting.

P38 Energy - Budget Propane Group donated $30,000 to support food banks in Western Quebec and Eastern Ontario. The group presented a cheque to each of the food banks in their locality to support organisations offering aid to those in need due to the current situation.

Greg and Rob Whyte, along with their British Empire Fuels family, stepped up to support the Bobcaygeon and Area COVID-19 Relief Fund, assisting Pinecrest patients, their families and health care workers affected by the coronavirus. During the month of April, one cent from every litre of fuel delivered to BEF customers will be donated to the relief fund. This includes all propane, home heating oil, and gasoline sales. It is anticipated that depending on the weather, the donation will amount to $7,000 to $10,000.

COVID-19 is being felt in all walks of life throughout Canada. It has affected us economically and has turned our everyday lives upside down. What is less talked about is the emotional stress caused by COVID-19.
The Saskatchewan Committee of the CPA wants all of us to remember the importance of supporting those at risk and those trying to deal with the stress caused by COVID-19. The Committee has generously donated $1,000 to the Saskatchewan Kids Help Phone and another $1,000 to the Canadian Mental Health Association – Saskatchewan Division.

We salute members of the CPA for their generous donations.

Please tell us how you are assisting your fellow Canadians in these very challenging times. Send your stories to Tammy Hirsch, Sr. Director of Communications and Marketing at tammyhirsch@propane.ca.
