The Province of Nova Scotia has committed to drafting a new Climate Change Plan for Clean Growth by December 31, 2020. The new plan will address the following:

  • achieving the greenhouse gas emission targets set out in Section 7 (of the Act);
  • adapting to the impacts of climate change and building a climate resilient province;
  • accelerating the integration of sustainable and innovative technologies and approaches; and
  • clean inclusive growth

On March 12, 2020, Nova Scotia Environment had launched the public engagement process on the development of the new goals as well as the new Climate Plan but the process is currently on hold as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CPA will notify members once the engagement process has been re-established. For any comments or questions you can reach Jean-Francois Duguay, Government Relations Director, Atlantic Canada and Quebec at jeanfrancoisduguay@propane.ca or 506-480-0275.
