Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Over the past months, both Transport Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) published changes to federal regulations.

TDG Regulations

Transport Canada released changes to the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Regulations, published in the Canada Gazette Part II, Vol. 153, No. 9. The changes to the regulations came into force on June 1; the regulations will be enforced nine months after this date (March 1, 2020), to allow for appropriate balance between achieving safety objectives and accommodating the implementation of the new regulatory requirements.

ERAC created a chart to further detail these changes. If you have additional questions, please contact Patrick Knight, Safety & Quality Manager, 403-543-6501 or Patrick.Knight@erac.org.

E2 Regulations

ECCC released changes to the Environmental Emergency (E2) Regulations, published in the Canada Gazette Part II, Vol. 153, No. 5. The changes to the regulations will come into force on August 24, 2019.

ERAC also created a chart to further detail these changes. If you have additional questions, please contact Don Merriam, Emergency Response Planning Manager, 514-714-1075 or Don.Merriam@erac.org.

ERAC communicated these changes in detail to primary and emergency contacts of its Plan Participant members in May. If your organization did not receive either of these communications, please contact info@erac.org.
