Although trucking prices plateued somewhat in March, they remain at an elevated level over last year, while intermodal rose sharply from February to March. Intermodal prices are now 13 percent higher than last year, possibly a sign that shippers are exploring other options in light of trucking's capacity crunch.

Food Safety News

Recently, the Food and Drug Administration updated its financial guidelines with regard to who qualifies as a small food producer and is thus exempt from Food Safety Modernization Act requirements under the Tester-Hagan amendment. While the guidelines are somewhat complicated, some in the industry appreciate the information.
