FSA Partner Meals on Wheels America Rises to Fill Need

Dear Food Shippers of America: 

As 2020 comes to a close, we wanted to extend our heartfelt appreciation for your extraordinarily generous gift to Meals on Wheels America this year. Your organization’s donation could not have come at a better time.

These unprecedented times have required all of us to pivot our businesses and lives to adapt — and certainly that’s been the case for those older adults who rely on Meals on Wheels as their lifeline. Our local programs were turned on their heads practically overnight to meet an extraordinary surge in demand not only from existing clients, but from an entirely new wave of seniors in need. It’s because of continued generosity from organizations like the Food Shippers of America that we’ve been able to rise to the occasion and respond with strength, speed and resilience to deliver 77% more meals and serve 47% more seniors than before the pandemic hit. 

While the road ahead for the population we serve will be long and challenging, I remain optimistic that with your support we will spark a movement to ensure all seniors have the care and services needed during this crisis and beyond.
