You probably remember making the decision to create online profiles, and learning how to use technology. Thus, the generations of Millennials and prior are often referred to as "digital immigrants," as opposed to today’s youth who are termed "digital natives" because they started using technology. These digital natives never made the decision to establish a digital footprint, their parents created entire albums documenting their lives from the moment they were born. So it’s no wonder that students often trust Google and other online resources more than the adults in their lives, and are willing to reveal things behind the veil of anonymity, namely admittence of depression or anxiety and unpopular feelings of doubt and loneliness.
