FASBO recognizes that now more than ever there is a need for training and networking to share ideas on how to get through the next several years with reductions in budget and staff. Fill out your scholarship application today to attend the conference on us.

If you’d like to know how to help us RIGHT NOW, it’s this ... the weather has changed and we need jackets for our kids! Every single jacket donated will go directly to a student in need. For health-related reasons we can only accept and distribute new jackets and this is a great, and easy way, to get us the jackets we DESPERATELY need. Our goal is 14,000: http://www.brillianttees.biz/jackets/shop/home.

All 67 counties in Florida are recounting ballots cast in the contentious Nov. 6 midterm election.

The first unofficial election results submitted to the state over the weekend had the U.S. Senate, governor’s and agriculture commissioner race all within the 0.5 percentage point margin mandating an automatic machine recount of the more than 8 million ballots cast.

Results are due to the State Division of Elections by 3 p.m. Thursday.
Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart announced earlier this month that November is Family Engagement in Education Month. Family Engagement in Education Month focuses on schools and families working together to support learning for every child.

"We know that when parents and families are involved in a child’s education, the result is higher student achievement and more students prepared for future success," said Commissioner Stewart. "I encourage all Florida families to get involved throughout the school year, stay informed and continue to make their child’s education a top priority."
