Upcoming Legislative Platform Meeting: Thursday, Dec 4. (Agenda Now Available)

Please join FAA for the annual platform setting meeting on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014. This meeting is an important opportunity to refresh your knowledge about our legislative endeavors and corresponding APAC efforts and committees.

The meeting will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the AAGO offices:
Apartment Association of Greater Orlando 
340 N. Maitland Ave.
Maitland, FL 32751

Local association legislative chairs, as well as any other members who are interested in government affairs, are welcome! This meeting is a great opportunity to sign up for our legislative committees and get involved in APAC.

Below is the tentative agenda. Be sure to email Courtney Barnard with any state-wide legislative issues you would like her to research before the legislative briefing. We look forward to seeing you on Dec. 4. Please RSVP to courtney@faahq.org by Dec. 1 so we can have headcount for lunch.

Legislative Committee 101
• Information regarding the Legislative, Legal and Government Affairs Committee roles
• Requirements of serving on committee: Meetings, APAC, availability
Expanding the Legislative Committee in 2015:
• Discussion of possible Florida Key Contact program

12 p.m.: Working Lunch
APAC Refresher:
• New branding/logo
• 2015 goals: Total goal, participation, new donor levels
• Fundraising and the law: following FEC guidelines
• Resources Available: affiliate grants, help from Courtney 
Legislative Conference Updates
• How to set up appointments with legislators
• APAC Governor’s Mansion private tour info
• DC: Update, Florida Embassy Event

1 p.m.: FAA Legislative Recap: Kelly Mallette (overview, goals and 2015)
