Carpe Diem: Our Time is Now!

The apartment industry in Florida is strong despite the recession, with occupancies at more than 90 percent and rents up in most markets. New capital has been coming strong into Florida to buy properties, and many are being renovated. Our state and local associations are strong, active and, in many cases, have lots of new leaders on their boards. The day is young and our time is now in today's apartment industry!

This year's Florida Apartment Association Education Conference embodies the spirit of change and energy, while providing you the great experience you've come to expect. Although our closing keynote speaker, Joel Zeff, has been here before, he's bringing a new act with his full team of comedy masters to his speech and to the Closing Celebration Dinner, which he will emcee this year. Joel is guaranteed to elicit plenty of laughs while making you think. Our opening keynote speaker, Christine Cashen, is new to FAA and will blast off the conference with high energy and potent ideas. In between, we have industry veterans such as Terri Norvell, Doug Chasick and Nadeen Green, combined with new speakers such as the Social Media Legal Panel and Russ Webb of the Atlanta Apartment Association, talking about how to get the most out of your trade show exhibit (for exhibitors) and how to understand the new world of technology that often confuses us. We'll also have a multifamily market analysis and forecast by University of Central Florida professor Joshua Harris and an independent rental owner's panel of industry experts.

Our APAC Conference fundraisers will be new and improved this year, as Casino Night has been replaced by In It to Win It, a fun game everybody can play, and a revamped golf tournament that will have some entertaining new features. We bring back the Silent Auction this year with lots of great prizes, so be prepared to bid to win and support your industry PAC. As always, the sold out Trade Show will be a center of activity, and the Product-Service Council will be giving away $13,000 in cash and planning lots of fun for attendees.

We look forward to seeing you at the beautiful host hotel, the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate. The amenities are grand and it's easy to get to and from all over the state. The deadline for reservations at the Omni is Sept. 9. The link to FAA's custom reservation page can be found on the FAA website conference page.

As always, there are discounts for multiple attendees from the same company, and you can register for the group discounts on the website. Those who have already using the new group registration on the site are pleased with the ease in which registering their management company associates. Registration for the golf tournament and In It to Win It is also available online.

The Early Bird Registration Deadline is Aug. 31, so don't delay! Seize the day and Register Today!
