Policy update: Important changes to reinstatement

We know that 2020 has provided a series of unique challenges for you and for our industry. We also know that the strength and health of the global events industry is going to play a key role in the world's economic recovery – and that CMPs will help lead the way.

With this in mind, the CMP Governance Commission updated the CMP Reinstatement Policy to allow for an extension of the reinstatement window. If a CMP misses the 31 December 2020 deadline, they are no longer certified and not able to use the CMP marks, or digital badge. However, you can now reinstate the certification without taking the exam if you apply for reinstatement before 11:59 p.m. EST on 31 December 2021.

EIC has held the recertification fee at $225 USD this year, and will continue to do so until 11:59 p.m. EST on 31 December 2020. On 1 January 2021, the fee to reinstate is $375 USD.

The CMP community is strong, and it is vital to the growth of our industry. It is our hope that this policy change helps those who need a grace period to reinstate their CMP. If you have any questions, our team is here to help: certification@eventscouncil.org.
