A new report by Forkliftaction News warns that while the UK truck driver crisis dominates the mainstream media, experts are concerned about a broader skills shortage across warehousing and logistics in most markets around the world.
The report features insights from industry associations including MHEDA, which advises that companies can start to address the looming shortage of skilled labour through “creative recruitment and retention strategies including monetary incentives for referrals, signing bonuses and highly competitive wages”.

On the Bright Side
The Employee Engagement Committee at Flux Power partnered with the North County Food Bank to host the first Thanksgiving food drive. “We are pleased to help support the North County Food Bank,” commented CEO Ron Dutt. “The food drive was an inspiring event that was led by our employees – we had a great turn out!”
Not only did Flux Power donate 723 pounds of food, but they also donated $500 to support the mission of the North County Food Bank.
Riekes Equipment announces its donation of a new electric forklift, battery and charger to the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Industrial Distribution program. The new equipment is not only useful to the program, but helps give the next generation of industry professionals real-world experience in material handling and logistics. Riekes has been a long-time partner with the UNK ID program and have provided its students with opportunities to learn, develop skills and network, so that the industry as a whole benefits from their experiences in the years to come.
