Competition at the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National Craft Championships
Four students in CEF's craft/apprenticeship program competed in the ABC National Craft Championship last week in Birmingham, AL, two of which received national recognition. Congratulations to: 1st Place Gold Medalist: HVAC, Jared Whitehead, Aire Dynamics and 3rd Place Bronze Medalist: Structural Welding, Bill Bailey III, TDIndustries. A great day for our North Texas training partner companies!

Construction Industry Safety Stand Down ... May 15
All TEXO members are encouraged to participate in the May 15th Construction Industry Stand Down. Make this Stand Down a SUCCESS! We firmly believe taking this action as a construction community will make a strong statement about the importance of safety to each of us. 10th Annual Poker Run and Cook-Out
The 10th Annual Poker Run & Cook-Out is scheduled for Saturday, May 18. There are two routes to choose from. Join us for a fun day of games, a live auction, door prizes and live entertainment. All companies MUST have their workforce trained in the new Globally Harmonized System (GHS) by December 1, 2013
GHS is an international approach to hazard communication, providing a new system for classification of chemical hazards, and a standardized approach to labels and safety data sheets. OSHA is requiring that by December 1, 2013 all employees be trained on the new labels (e.g., pictograms and signal words) and Safety Data Sheet format.
