Up to $6.4 billion under the CHIPS and Science Act will be directed to Samsung Electronics for its more than $40 billion project developing a semiconductor research cluster in Taylor, Texas. The project is expected to require at least 17,000 construction jobs. - The Associated Press
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is planning to add at least 20 new gates in a new building connected to the existing terminal, a multi-year project that will cost the Texas capital's airport around $1 billion. The airport is soliciting bids to design the project, which will likely open in the 2030s. - Austin Monitor
Associated Builders and Contractors reported today that its Construction Backlog Indicator increased to 8.2 months in March from 8.1 months in February, according to an ABC member survey conducted March 20 to April 3. The reading is down 0.5 months from March 2023. ABC’s Construction Confidence Index readings for sales, profit margins and staffing levels increased in March. All three readings remain above the threshold of 50, indicating expectations for growth over the next six months. - ABC National

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.
