Each year, university students in construction programs travel to DFW to showcase their skills and connect with TEXO member companies about career opportunities. Students participate in three divisions: commercial, design-build and heavy civil.
 
This event gives industry professionals valuable face time with ambitious students and future recruits. You can support the annual Student Competition and showcase your company to these high-achieving construction students through event sponsorships and/or booths in our Networking Lounge.

Calling all the construction ladies! In conjunction with last week's incredibly successful happy hour event, the TEXO Women's Committee has launched a new LinkedIn group with the goal of building an online community where women can share relevant articles and information, engage in discussion, ask questions, seek feedback, brainstorm ideas, etc. To encourage ladies to join, the Women’s Committee is doing a Galentine’s Day Giveaway and will draw a random group member on Monday, Feb. 13 to win a special Galentine’s Day prize.
 
Please share this with your female colleagues and peers to help grow this awesome group right out of the gate!
These events provide a briefing on legislative proposals affecting the commercial and industrial construction industry and conclude with meetings with representatives at the Texas Capitol.

This is an instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid for sudden illnesses; injuries and protection from blood-borne pathogens; choking relief and sudden cardiac arrest for adults. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

OSHA 30-Hour Construction safety course is intended for supervisors or for workers with some safety responsibility. It provides a greater depth and variety of training on an expanded list of topics associated with workplace hazards than the TEXO Safety First class. Topics include recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards found in the workplace.

The two-day TEXO OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program provides general awareness for entry or field-level construction workers. The training program covers recognizing, mitigating, and preventing hazards on a construction site. We have incorporated a virtual reality component to enhance the participants' engagement and connection to the material.
