Friday's unexpectedly strong reports on employment and wage growth could influence the Federal Reserve's decision-making on interest rates and encourage policymakers to maintain a robust pace of increases. Charles Evans, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, said last week that he would support a 50-basis-point hike at the upcoming meeting if data shows that the economy is cooling. However, a 75-basis-point hike is still in play if that does not happen, Evans said.
  
The Senate has approved Democrats' $740 billion climate, health care and tax package on a party-line vote in which Vice President Kamala Harris broke the tie. The Inflation Reduction Act includes $374 billion in climate and energy spending, Medicare negotiations for drug prices, a 15% minimum corporate tax and a stock buyback tax, while a proposed tax increase on private equity managers' carried-interest income has been dropped. The House is expected to vote on the legislation Friday.

This is an instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid for sudden illnesses; injuries and protection from blood-borne pathogens; choking relief and sudden cardiac arrest for adults. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.

OSHA 30-Hour Construction safety course is intended for supervisors or for workers with some safety responsibility. It provides a greater depth and variety of training on an expanded list of topics associated with workplace hazards than the TEXO Safety First class. Topics include recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards found in the workplace.

The two-day TEXO OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program provides general awareness for entry or field-level construction workers.
