Anirban Basu, ABC's chief economist, will review the year to date and demystify the ever-changing economic landscape. Basu will address the biggest concerns for contractors, including, but not limited to, the cost of labor and materials and the impact of the $1 trillion infrastructure package, in addition to presenting his exclusive commercial construction forecast.
 
Basu will also discuss portions of the general economy affecting contractors: inflation (or “stagflation”), the Federal Reserve's interest rate increases, unemployment and labor figures and how changes in consumer demand influence shifts in market sectors.

The Dodge Momentum Index reached a 14-year high last month, edging up to 173.6. Boosted by warehouse projects, the commercial component climbed 4.1% in June, while the institutional component dropped 6.2% due to fewer education projects.
  
Texas Tech announced Monday its largest investment into the Red Raider football program to date as the athletics department unveiled plans for an approximate $200 million facilities project to construct a new south end zone building to Jones AT&T Stadium, which will connect to the new Dustin R. This is an instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid for sudden illnesses; injuries and protection from blood-borne pathogens; choking relief and sudden cardiac arrest for adults. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

OSHA 30-Hour Construction safety course is intended for supervisors or for workers with some safety responsibility. It provides a greater depth and variety of training on an expanded list of topics associated with workplace hazards than the TEXO Safety First class. Topics include recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards found in the workplace.
