The cost of construction goods and services climbed by a record-setting 4.3% in May and 24.3% over the past 12 month, and we’re seeing no end in sight. Join AGC Chief Economist Ken Simonson on Aug. 10 as he moderates a roundtable discussion between a building GC, highway GC, an owner and a specialty contractor.

During this hourlong townhall discussion, each participant will share how they are grappling with the surging prices of materials, managing owners and GC expectations and keeping jobs on time and on schedule.

The bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act introduced by the Senate proposes almost $1 trillion in spending to implement the first part of President Joe Biden's agenda for infrastructure. The bill recommends spending $550 billion in excess of federal levels over five years, including $110 billion for roads and bridges, $39 billion for public transit, $66 billion for rail and $55 billion for water infrastructure.

The numbers don't lie! Companies with a comprehensive training program achieve: 19% increased sales, 6x employee engagement, 29% higher profits, 72% less turnover and 59% fewer safety incidents. It only takes a 2% increase in productivity to generate 100% ROI from funds spent on training. That's a no brainer!
