ABC Convention 2021 is tailored to you, the ABC member. This is your opportunity to gain valuable industry insights, network and celebrate with fellow ABC members—merit shop contractors from across the country—and leave feeling energized and empowered for the year ahead.
 
We’ve prepared a thoughtful program complete with engaging and insightful events that we’ve curated to adapt to and anticipate the changing times. From four engaging keynote speakers to top industry insights, the Excellence in Construction® Awards Gala, and a golf tournament to benefit the Trimmer Construction Education Fund at Cowboys Golf Club, we are planning an event that will inspire and energize the merit shop for the year ahead.

Mark your calendars for the TEXO Foundation and Associated Schools of Construction Region Five VIRTUAL Student Competition where teams from Region Five schools compete again each other using member company construction projects to show their skill and interest in careers in construction. Students will compete in three divisions; Commercial, Design Build, and Heavy Civil.

OSHA 30-Hour Construction safety course is intended for supervisors or for workers with some safety responsibility. It provides a greater depth and variety of training on an expanded list of topics associated with workplace hazards than the TEXO Safety First class. Topics include recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards found in the workplace.

Join us for this new class, presented in partnership with 22Kill, where participants will learn about the warning signs and statistics of various mental health concerns and how when left unaddressed can lead to suicide. Valuable tools will be provided in learning how to recognize signs and hold difficult conversations with those who may be struggling, stress management techniques and resource navigation for those in need of help.

Designed for supervisors, managers, and other employees tasked with ensuring compliance, the OSHA Recordkeeping and Reporting for All Industries virtual course will cover the essential aspects of setting up and maintaining a reporting system in accordance with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1904.

  • A "No Handshake" policy will be in effect at all events. This includes fist bumps, elbow bumps and other greetings that go against the 6-foot social distancing practices.
  • Social distancing practices will be put in place in all common areas.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided at the registration table and in front of all meal stations.
  • Common areas will be wiped down consistently throughout the course of the event.
  • Attendees are encouraged to wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after any eating, blowing of the nose, coughing, sneezing and using the bathroom.
  • Attendees who have any symptoms related to COVID-19 are discouraged from attending any events. Attendees who have a cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, diarrhea, or vomiting within the previous two weeks of the event should not attend.
