Executive Presence is a term that stands for a lot of things, but we all know what it means.  It means that when you step into the room, people stop and notice.  When you speak, people stop to listen.  Acquiring or polishing executive presence is a bit more complicated, though.  It’s a combination of understanding presence, as well as your substance and your impact.  It begins with self-awareness, includes understanding and building trust, looking at your personal biases, and making your communication style more intentional, so that it conveys the goal that you are trying to reach.   In these four hours, we will lift your personal presence, and have an immediate impact on your gravitas, while also giving you take-away tools to help you work on continuing to grow your presence in the weeks and months ahead. Speaker: Lee Jay Berman

The Adaptive Negotiation Skills Workshop is a lively, fun, and interactive program that studies negotiation theory and practice, game theory and negotiation ethics, and uses role-play simulations, case studies and high-energy, interactive lecture for maximum skill development. After experiencing the practical tools we share during this highly energetic program, seasoned business people will acknowledge having used tools like these, but never having completely understood the strategy behind them, and they will negotiate very differently going forward, crafting transactions in more creative, more responsive and more adaptive ways.

It seems every major daily newspaper in Texas is reporting on the many job cuts in our state's oil and gas industry. AGC of America just released "Ready to Hire Again: The 2015 Construction Hiring and Business Outlook." In summary, the 10-page report describes the growing shortage of qualified workers-especially craft workers. That's one of the reasons an industry coalition developed a new statewide workforce development website, www.texasconstructioncareers.com. It is designed to connect laid off workers to meaningful, well-paying jobs in the construction industry.  Employers can post positions, check out industry job fairs, and take inventory of all the craft providers in Texas. A six module training course has been created for Site Superintendents to gain a better understanding of the requirements of the Stormwater program. Training will include how to conduct oneself during a regulatory agency’s site inspection and how to conduct a site inspection themselves. Also, training will cover highlights of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and the difference between a structural control and a non-structural control. By the end of the six modules, a Site Superintendent will be more familiar with the vernacular used by stormwater professionals and will be able to display their knowledge so that the regulatory agency is comfortable that their site is in compliance with the program. All module training courses are presented by a member and instructor of the International Erosion Control Associations (IECA).
