CEF is looking for volunteers to assist with their annual Build Your Future Construction Career Day tomorrow October 29, 2014. A record number of students will be attending this year and CEF needs you! The purpose of this event is to introduce them to the benefits of choosing a career in the construction industry. TEXO is encouraging members and their staff to vote on November 4th. Individuals wishing to cast their vote now may do so in the early voting process between October 20th – 31st. TEXO is working in conjunction with the Texas Building Branch AGC and the ABC of Texas, including our National Associations providing support to several candidates seeking elected office. TEXO, ABC of Texas, TBB-AGC and our national associations support principled, independent thinking candidates who understand the free enterprise system and the role the construction industry plays in creating a strong Texas economy.

156th Annual Construction Safety Excellence Awards
The TEXO Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA) is an ongoing and evolving effort to recognize companies who have developed and implemented excellent safety and loss prevention programs achieved through management commitment, employee involvement, and program innovation. All TEXO members are encouraged to submit nominations for each division and occupational category.

Schedule and Deadlines:
December 5, 2014 - Completed applications are due in the TEXO Office
December 12, 2014 - Oral Presentations
December 15, 2014 - Winners Notified

We are now taking applications for 4 individual awards in 2014. These awards are given to individuals who personify what TEXO stands for and have made a difference in the construction field in 2014. The SIR Award and Magnolia Award will each be given to one individual. The Superintendent of the Year and Safety Professional of the Year will be given to an individual from one General Contractor and one Specialty Contractor. About the Program
The TEXO Safety First program is a hands-on, interactive orientation for commercial construction employees in all divisions so they can learn the essentials of jobsite safety. This unique program provides an industry specific orientation in safety which all commercial contractors can use. Endorsed by industry leaders in the field of construction safety, during each instructional session, participants handle the equipment they are being trained to understand and operate. Participants also have real-time conversations with the instructor and other class participants on the components of each module.
