Emails are being sent to you offering to sell you USSD attendee lists. THESE ARE SCAMS!!
USSD does not sell its attendee or membership lists. These emails are a problem for every organization and unfortunately there is no way to stop them. They typically show up when an organization has an upcoming conference or just had one. The attendee lists are fake and do not contain viable information. Please delete them.
A recent email was sent to USSD members requesting that you review and prepare comments on the FERC Notice of Inquiry for Financial Assurance Measures for Hydroelectric Projects (Docket No. RM21-9-000).

ICOLD News
INCOLD is organizing the ICOLD Symposium on “Sustainable Development of Dams and River Basins” under the aegis of ICOLD at New Delhi on a virtual platform from Feb. 24-27, 2021 at New Delhi. In addition, six workshops on different aspects of dam engineering are also being organized in parallel session on Feb. 27, 2021.

Del Shannon, Schnabel Engineering, and USSD Board Vice-President, will present ASCE's Infrastructure Report Card for dams and levees in Washington DC on March 3. Shannon was also featured in the latest Hydro Leader magazine issue (included in this e-newsletter).
ASI Services Techniques Inc. (ASI), a division of ASI Group Ltd., a globally recognized company in underwater inspection, maintenance, and repair, and Hydro Québec (HQ), the largest energy provider in Canada, have signed an agreement for the commercialization of WireScan. This new technology, developed by the HQ research and development team, is a laser scanning tool that can precisely measure hydro dam components such as stop log and gate slots above and below the waterline.
Kleinschmidt Associates, an engineering, regulatory, and environmental consulting firm with a focus on renewable energy and 10 offices across North America has joined forces with R2 Resource Consultants. With principal offices in Redmond and Vancouver, Washington, R2 Resource Consultants has established an industry-leading reputation for services in fisheries and aquatic science, fish passage and hatchery facilities, ecology, and water resource engineering services across the Pacific Northwest region.
J.F. Brennan Company formally announces their Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) certified joint venture with Ahtna Marine & Construction Company, LLC. Publicly titled the Ahtna – J.F. Brennan JV, the partnership establishes a mentor protégé relationship between Brennan and Alaska Native Corporation subsidiary AMCC. Together, Brennan and AMCC will bid and execute specific environmental dredging and dam construction projects throughout the United States that may have otherwise been out of reach.
