The countdown is on for the 2025 Annual Conference! 

There is still time to register if you haven't yet, we would love to see you in Kansas City.

A detailed conference email will hit your inbox soon. In the meantime here are some things to look forward to:

  • Tailgate Themed Conference Kick Off: Pack your fan gear for our Monday night party in the Exhibit Hall.

  • Review the directory and make a plan of which booths to visit.

  • Committee Meetings: Join the meetings for committees you are a member of or expand your involvement by popping into new groups.

  • Conference App: Registered attendees will receive an email with instructions on accessing the conference app which will have the most up-to-date schedule, proceedings and more.

Tailings Dam Safety Best Practices Draft Nears Public Release & Roundtable Opportunity

 

The USSD-developed FEMA guidance document is moving forward with public release of the final draft expected in April. While we await a release date, USSD is planning an opportunity for authors to present the final draft and foster collaborative exchange with participants. Join the USSD Tailings Committee for a Roundtable Discussion on Monday, May 5, from 3-5 p.m. CT at the USSD Annual Conference in Kansas City, MO. Virtual attendees are welcome to view the meeting and participate via hybrid meeting tools; to receive a virtual invite please email: info@ussdams.org.

Safety Evaluation of Existing Dams (SEED): June 2-11, 2025
 

International Technical Seminar and Study Tour

The SEED Seminar is designed for managers, administrators, engineers and geologists responsible for the design, construction, operation, maintenance and safety of dams. Lectures, case histories and structured discussions covering all aspects of a dam safety examination program are led by Reclamation engineers or geologists with extensive experience and knowledge in the areas of design, construction, operation, maintenance and dam safety. 

 Registration Deadline: April 18, 2025 

 Early registration is recommended.
