CWWA Welcomes Indonesian Delegation

With our CWWA headquarters in Ottawa, we get a lot of opportunities to meet international visitors.  On November 22nd, we were invited to the Indonesian Embassy to meet a delegation of water professionals and politicians from that country looking for advice as they develop a new national water strategy. Adrian Toth, CWWA’s Director of Government Relations and I were warmly welcomed by His Excellency Teuku Faizasyah, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia.

We made a presentation on CWWA and the basics of water/wastewater legislation and responsibility in Canada. We discussed the municipal, provincial and federal roles, various water related legislation and discussed the major issues we are addressing in Canada. The delegation then asked many questions as they look for guidance on building a federal leadership role in Indonesia.

The delegation was very interested in all we had to share and promised to follow up with many more questions. So, don’t be surprised if I pass some questions along to one of you.
