Health Canada Issues New CDWQ Guidelines for Chromium

Health Canada’s Federal-Provincial- Territorial Committee on Drinking Water, released July 23, 2015, notice of consultation on Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality - Guideline Technical Document on Chromium

A maximum acceptable concentration (MAC) of 0.1 mg/L (100 µg/L) is proposed for total chromium in drinking water.

Comments accepted until September 23, 2015.

The government is seeking feedback on the following:
Based on the feedback received, the Guideline Technical Document on Chromium in Drinking Water will be updated.
