CWWA Welcomes Tibetan Delegation

The CWWA was pleased to welcome 20 delegates visiting Canada from the Water Resources Department of Tibet Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China. The group was led by Mr. Dawazhaxi, Director-General and Engineer, responsible for all of Tibet.

CWWA Executive Director Robert Haller and Manager of Government Relations Adrian Toth shared information about our association and our relationship with the federal government and our role in policy consultation. Ryan Hunt of Public Safety Canada spoke to them on federal security programs and Sally McIntyre of the City of Ottawa spoke to them about watershed management and water efficiency efforts in Canada. The delegates were most interested in the topics of water conservation and efficiency.

After Ottawa, the group travelled west to Toronto and a visit with Halton Region and then out to British Columbia to meet with Metro Vancouver staff and other CWWA members.
