PBS recently announced a new series they will begin airing on Oct. 15 titled "How We Got to Now With Steven Johnson". This six-part program features examinations of the history and people behind innovations that have been instrumental in creating a successful modern society. The program’s segment entitled "Clean" will explore the history of clean drinking water and what mark its importance has left on our world.

"How We Got to Now With Steven Johnson" show producers worked with AWWA-Journal’s Editor-in-Chief, Michael McGuire, in the development of the "Clean" segment. McGuire is author of the popular book "The Chlorine Revolution: Water Disinfection and the Fight to Save Lives", which chronicles the journey of disinfecting water systems with chlorine.

AWWA encourages members to draw customers’ attention to this program and to particularly tune-into the "Clean" segment on their local PBS stations to learn about and to understand the importance of safe drinking water.
