Is your municipality considering a water study or test? You may be eligible for a grant from FCM’s Green Municipal Fund.

Grants are available for a range of studies that assess or test the technical and financial feasibility of capital projects aimed at:

  • end-use water conservation
  • stormwater management
  • wastewater treatment systems
  • septic systems for neighbourhoods or communities that cannot connect to a centralized wastewater treatment plant

GMF grants cover up to 50 per cent of eligible costs to a maximum of $175,000. Applications for feasibility studies and field tests are reviewed in a non-competitive process against established criteria.

GMF funding is available to all municipal governments and their partners in eligible projects. In 2014–2015, FCM aims to approve a total of $6 million in grants for eligible plans, studies and tests.
