NRCan Survey of Consumer Water Costs and Energy Use by the Water Sector

In support of these goals, on behalf of NRCan and in collaboration with CWWA, Guidehouse is leading a national study to estimate the energy intensity of treatment and delivery of potable water and disposal of wastewater in Canada, and an estimate of the average incremental rates paid by residential customers for that water. Guidehouse will be conducting a survey to collect data on the energy intensity of water supply, treatment, distribution, and wastewater and the average variable rate of water and wastewater service for the residential sector.

The information collected in this survey will enable NRCan to determine, describe and quantify the impacts of programs, policies, tools, or other work by NRCan affecting water consumption and associated energy consumption. This is a high priority initiative for NRCan in support of the Canadian Government’s energy efficiency goals. We look forward to your completion of the survey. Guidehouse will be distributing this survey in April and asks that you complete the survey within a month of receipt. NRCan will provide a summary of the aggregated and anonymized results of the survey to respondents. Your participation in this important study is greatly appreciated.
