University of Toronto’s Co-op and Internship Programs

We are pleased to share long time member University of Toronto’s updated information on Arts & Science Co-op programs (for undergraduate students) and the Master of Environmental Science program (for graduate students).

The following information was provided by the University.

1. The following link will take you to the full list of the 35 undergraduate Arts & Science Co-op academic streams that we support in the U of T Scarborough Co-op Program.  Undergraduate students are available for hire year-round in Fall, Winter or Summer semester.

2. We also support the Master of Environmental Science (MEnvSc) internship program.  Students in our MEnvSc program go out on work term in the Summer semester and will be next available starting in May 2022.

  • Job postings will be accepted as early as December 1, 2021. 
    Our students have access to over 30 challenging graduate courses that prepare them for the professional world of work.
  • Students can take graduate courses in Environmental Legislation and Policy, Contaminated Site Remediation, Environmental Risk Assessment, Freshwater Biology and Biomonitoring, Fluid Dynamics, Climate Change Science and Modelling, Advanced GIS, Quantitative Analysis, Brownfields Redevelopment, Hydrology and Watershed Management, and more.
  • The program features 3 specializations:
    • Terrestrial and Aquatic Systems;
    • Conservation and Biodiversity; and
    • Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation.

3. We offer a flexible hiring process to help find the U of T student talent that you need!

Hiring Process:  We follow the continuous round format.  This means that we accept postings, schedule interviews and extend offers to hire our students on the timelines that best suit our employers.

  • We begin recruitment 4-5 months in advance of work term start dates that typically begin in May, September and January. 
  • Employers can hire for 4, 8, or 12- month work terms.
  • We encourage that you consider posting as early as possible to access the largest candidate pool.

5. Scheduling interviews: After the review of applications, you may short-list your preferred candidates and contact us to schedule interviews. You are welcome to interview at your location, by telephone, or virtually (i.e. Zoom, MS Teams, Skype, etc.)
