Longtime CWWA member, supporter and contributor John Presta was awarded the Arthur Sydney Bedell Award for extraordinary personal service to WEF by the Water Environment Association of Ontario.

John is the Director of Environmental Services at the Regional Municipality of Durham, where his leadership encourages engagement by all of his staff in training and professional association activities, making Durham Region a true water leader and example for many.  In addition to being a regular contributor to CWWA, John has served on the board of WEAO, including a term as its President and served on the Canadian Affairs Council of WEF.

Congratulations John!

The Bedell Award acknowledges extraordinary personal service to a WEF Member Association.  The award is named for Arthur Sidney Bedell, WEF's second president for his long devotion and service to the New York Sewage and Industrial Wastes Association, now the New York Water Environment Association. He was Chief of the Bureau of Sewage and Waste Disposal of the New York State Department of Health.
