Infrastructure - September 16

We will hear from the Canada Infrastructure Bank on its developing role in the national infrastructure landscape and the opportunities available to the water sector. The Federation of Canadian Municipalities will provide an update on the funding and programming support it is offering to municipalities, as well as its reaction to federal infrastructure investments for municipal water infrastructure.

Window on Water:
Wastewater - October 21

Senior policy staff from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) will provide updates on policy work related to the Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations (WSER), the Northern Regulatory Framework, and monitoring of chemicals in wastewater. We''ll also receive updates on ECCC's work on monitoring of effluent, influent and biosolids, as well as reporting on the ECCC's work on the Technology Inventory for Small Communities.

Following the ECCC's update, we'll provide a presentation on recent amendments to the Canada Plumbing Code and the implications this may have on water and wastewater utilities.

The session will be moderated by Beth Weir who is the manager of operations, maintenance, and monitoring at York Region. She is also the chair of the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association's (CWWA) Wastewater Committee.
