ECO Canada Employment Funding Programs

ECO Canada is a not-for-profit organization based in Calgary, Alberta. We have been in operation for over 25 years working, supporting, and developing environmental professionals all over Canada through training, certification and Wage-Funding programs.

ECO Canada offers several programs that might be interesting to our members. These programs not only help fund work opportunities, but also create opportunities for young professionals gain on job experience.

  • Coop work placement: Help cultivate the next generation of environmental professionals. This program allows students to gain valuable on-the-job experience through 12 to 16-week paid work terms. We will cover up to 50% of wages up to $5,000 for eligible students in a STEM or business field.
  • Natural Resources Canada Internship Program: Clean Energy for Northern, Rural and Remote Communities Through their Science and Technology Youth Internship Program, Natural Resources Canada is working with us to provide funding for green jobs related to STEM in natural resources. If you are an eligible program candidate or host employer, you may qualify for up to $15,000 in wage funding and training. This could increase up to $20,000 if the placement is in a northern, rural or remote community.
  • Science Horizons Youth Internship: Environment and Climate Change Canada provides funding for green jobs in STEM that directly or indirectly impact climate change. If you are an employer or an emerging professional, you may qualify for up to $15,000 in wage funding for junior STEM positions in the environmental sector.
