Our Annual Report and Membership Directory should be in all our members hands! This report not only contains a complete list of all CWWA members and our prime contacts, but also reports on CWWA’s advocacy activities, our annual financial report and a report on our annual National Water and Wastewater Conference. As we work towards refreshing the Annual Report and providing more information that is valuable to our membership, we hope that you enjoy the publication.

One glaring omission was a report and list of our Drinking Water Quality Committee – one of our busiest and most engaged groups. During 2018 and eary 2019 the Committee:

  • Held eight monthly meeting of the Committee
  • Reviewed abstracts and helped develop a drinking water program for the Annual CWWA Water/Wastewater Conference held in Montreal, Quebec, November 2018, as well as the upcoming 2019 Conference in Banff.
  • Helped organize a Health Canada’s "Lead in Drinking Water Quality Guideline” Panel Discussion for the 2019, June, Window-on-Ottawa.
  • Helped organize the "National Critical Infrastructure Interdependency Model” Forum for the Window on Ottawa”.
  • Provided comments and feedback to Health Canada on the following proposed guidelines (amongst others): Lead, Manganese, Cadmium, Fecal Coliforms
  • Developed a Position Statement on Lead for CWWA as well as helped draft a FACT Sheet.
  • Contributed to article on Lead in CWWA’s "Water Source” Magazine.
  • A few members of the Drinking Water Quality Committee have agreed to generate a column or two over the next year for AWWA’s monthly periodical (magazine) on Canada’s regulatory approach to lead in drinking water.
