CWWA Supports AWE Efforts to Save WaterSense

CWWA has added our name to a growing list of supporters for the Alliance for Water Efficiency efforts to save the WaterSense labelling program.

WaterSense provides labelling for water efficient appliances and fixtures. The program is currently funded under the EnergyStar program by the USEPA. With the deep cuts to the EPA both EnergyStar and WaterSense will be discontinued without intervention. AWE is leading lobbying efforts to try to save the program, and CWWA has added our name to a letter to the US EPA administrator to show our support for the program.

It’s important to note that while Environment Canada supports the program they do not provide funding for implementation in Canada.

In addition to supporting the AWE efforts CWWA will also be writing to Environment Canada to encourage them to consider supporting the program either financially or politically with the US government.
